Welcome to the Performing Arts department at High Storrs School. We are proud of our specialist status in the Performing Arts and the many opportunities that are provided for our pupils and wider community. All Performing Arts subjects are well established across all age and ability ranges. All KS3 pupils have lessons in Drama, Music and Dance. GCSE and A level courses are well established and expanding in Drama and Theatre Studies, Music and Dance alongside A level Music Technology and A Level Performing Arts. There are many extra curricular activities for pupils to be involved in throughout the year.
We have dedicated Drama, Dance and Music studios including a recording suite and computer room. We have strong links with our partner feeder and secondary schools and work on arts projects with them throughout the year. Our arts technician provides professional support for the Performing Arts team and our Community Arts development worker offers outreach projects for the wider community.
In 2005 Ofsted recognised the Arts as an area of excellence in the school and stated that the specialist status gave the school ‘a distinctive character and ethos’.
