Welcome to High Storrs School, specialist school in performing arts, maths and computing.

High Storrs School is delighted by the accolade of receiving ‘High Performing Status’ from the Department for Education and Skills in June 2006. This correctly recognizes the tremendous hard work by all partners in the learning process at the school over a number of years. With this new status came the opportunity to apply for a second curriculum specialism and, unusually, we consulted widely with parents and students. The outcome of this consultation was a strong and ultimately successful application for a second specialism in Mathematics and Computing.

In parallel with this submission we had to apply for redesignation of our first specialism in Performing Arts. We put together a strong bid that rightly celebrated the tremendous achievements in this curriculum area, both within and outside the school. We were again successful and so we take great pleasure in celebrating our achievement in both curriculum areas with the ‘launch’ this evening. I remain indebted to all those colleagues and friends of the school who worked so hard to achieve these outcomes.

More widely, High Storrs is committed to becoming a true centre of excellence for all students of all abilities across the entire curriculum. Our two specialisms will act as key catalysts to achieve this goal. The future at our school is truly exciting.
