Supporting Your Wellbeing

Pastoral care is fundamental at High Storrs to develop students’ health and wellbeing, build individual resilience and enhance academic achievements.

The Sixth Form team strives to ensure that all students feel included, valued and supported. Our strong Form Tutor team plays a vital role in ensuring that all students are happy, healthy and able to make the most of all opportunities available to them. Dedicated Student Support Assistants work full time to further enhance student wellbeing and provide practical support when needed. We understand that difficulties do sometimes occur and we work collaboratively with students, families and other agencies to resolve issues.

To promote strong wellbeing in the Sixth Form all students attend regular assemblies, weekly tutorial periods and daily registrations. These provide opportunities to learn and understand more about a range of issues affecting young people, as well as advice about what services are available both inside and outside school.

When you apply to High Storrs Sixth Form, we will work closely with you during the remainder of Year 11. Our relationship with you and your family starts as soon as you accept your conditional offer to study with us: we will keep in touch to offer support during those important months leading up to starting Sixth Form. This is important to ensure that your transition to A Level study is as smooth as possible.
